Population Control and Water Supply Issues
As we increase our populations every new soul will require increased infrastructure efficiency or expanding of the systems of civilization and nothing is more important than that of water supplies and distribution. The flow of clean and fresh water has to do with which way the rivers flow and the weather that delivers the water to the land by way of rain. Some day we maybe able to control the weather; this will truly be a major accomplishment of mankind in the next decade, but in the meanwhile we must not underestimate the World's need for water flows. Within the same time period the population of the World will more than double meaning the already stressed third world nations will be beyond crisis. They will need to limit population growth now otherwise there will be continued malnutrition, civil wars, mortality rates, disease, unhealthy water from sewage and death. If you look at the African Continent there are areas that are not able to sustain the current level of population much less anymore people. Millions dies in the Ethiopia drought of 1984. The West African droughts of 1972, 1975, 1984 and 1985 were blamed on EU factories and sulfur dioxide. If the flow of water is not fixed there it will be replaced by the flow of blood as anarchy sets in due to the shortages of the most basic need to sustain life. In North Korea the droughts of seven years leading up to 2001 nearly sank the country. Australia also had a huge drought; much more critical than anyone was willing to admit. China has been having some problems on their incredible project on the Yellow River Basin to bring flow to their largest coastal cities. Makes the San Francisco Bay area wonder if they should not try to attempt their own huge project as the Chinese immigrants come in on ships and planes to the region to stay, live and work? The issues we deal with here are nothing compared to other countries with less land and more people per acre. They have already over stressed to the max. We have been watching the plight of the farmer in this country and fights over populated cities VS the farmer and Industry. These issues are huge and they affect our economy, industries, jobs, food supply and prosperity. Shooting Around Corners with New Concept Currently the United States has weapons, which can shoot around corners, but they are not as accurate as we wish them to be. Often an insurgent will sit a top a building with a superior vantage point and a good location. He will then pick off our guys as they attempt to move and advance forward. Meanwhile we have Pig Disease and Bird Flu running its course in China and the CDC, WHO, HHS and other organizations and agencies are warning of us an impending Pandemic on top of any Bio-logical or chemical attack being planned by Al Queda. Fuel Prices and Trucking; A Reality Check On What Drives America It appears we are having a terrible situation with the diesel fuel prices in the US. It is affecting everything, since everything we buy is shipped by train or truck and most of the times both. We have artificial fuel price manipulation and large trucking companies operating at less than 3% margins. We have seen 100s of medium size trucking companies file bankruptcy and 1000s of small companies file as well between 1999 and 2002 and we appear to be headed for another round here in 2005. This is causing problems in the used truck sales market. We have noticed this affect with used trucks on this market it is affecting new truck sales right after several major mergers. There have been lay offs at all large trucking company manufacturers. Employees from Volvo, Peterbuilt, Daimler Chrysler who have been laid off, some have hired back a few due to the emissions rules and need for cleaner trucks and also trucks which are more efficient. The efficiency saved at these fuel prices will nearly pay the additional costs of the payments and truck manufacturers intend to capitalize on that fact. US Army in Catch 22 on Gays Issue Many of those who wish to fight for our country come from families with strong ideals of freedom. Most of them are strong Christians in fact. There in lies the real problem with the US Army recruiting. To be allowed to come on campus to recruit at many colleges they are asked to be careful around the issue of Gays in the military. Yet to recruit a Christian Soldier this is a little tough, for if you allow gays in the military this goes against their belief system and if they are heterosexual, they want nothing to do with being in the same shower with someone who might be gay, but will not tell? Public Notaries We are having a problem in America with Public Notaries, in many states. There is required 'errors and omissions insurance' and it costs quite a bit of money and many people have quit the profession. Yet we all find it difficult with all the ridiculous formswe have to sign to find a notary when we need one. More than ever people require extra forms, always with a notary. I applaud Gate's idea of passport and the others like AOL that copied his ideas. I applauded those who have now started using e-signatures. I applaud agencies, which have passwords, and you can do your forms online. I am also 100% behind the IRS in their e-filing progress. They have certainly streamlined things haven't they? Nurturing Global Disequilibrium This brings to our consciousness, issues concerning the ever rising level of inequality prevalent in our times with its attendant fallout and imbalance within our global system. This problem was affecting our team in my company and costing our franchisees money and ROI time, due to increased costs in new equipment. The increase in steel costs added $1800 to the trucks and $3000 to the truck beds? All over the import tax and the manipulation, which occurred due to supply and demand issues of the new pricing caused by those import taxes. Even still the steel industry did not have substantially higher profits and hurt were all the manufacturers such as ship builders, truck and car manufacturers. Image is Everything in Redevelopment Projects Revitalization Downtown projects are all the rage in fact the "Main Street America Project" is making significant headway as cities and towns share information. The communication of information of what worked and why as well as what did not work in a given demographic is now available to those who dare to take back their downtown areas. Urban flight and suburban sprawl has been tough on America. The people have chosen to live in the suburbs; unfortunately this hurts small businesses and jobs in the downtown areas. Americans are finding a better quality of life and higher standard of living while pursuing happiness in the less congested areas. Hybrid sales are up over 50% in the last two-months and dealers cannot keep them stocked. But what about other fuel costs. Gasoline, diesel and jet fuel are not the only fuel costs up these days. They learned that fires get big quick and it is important to use all available resources to prevent the wide spread damage that can occur. In the early 90's the Santa Monica Mountains were ablaze but the C-130s at Channel Islands Air National Guard Base stood ready and loaded waiting for a call to go fight the blaze. They waited 36 hours before they go the call, by that time the fire had ravaged the landscape. They learned a valuable lesson and many people unnecessarily lost their homes. The Act called for 14 cabinet level departments and 10 major agencies to appoint CFOs and try to emulate business and accounting standards used in publicly held corporations. The act and other financial reform legislation that followed, required that 24 agencies produce auditable Financial Statements. Guess what? Why the United States just doesnt get the United Nations For years I have been amazed as I've listened to people here in the United States demonstrate their complete ignorance of the purpose and tremendous value of the United Nations, even to the point of our country not paying dues to the organization. Ambassador to the United Nations has often been viewed as a second-class or B-level diplomatic job and with the current Presidential perspective, the UN has become a troublesome entity and the appointment of an Ambassador a hassle. John Bolton, denied the appointment, knows what I'm talking about here.
