How Can We Elect Good Leaders?
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Men desire power. Give power to those men who have the greatest apparent altruism by nature, experience and by example. Give these beings the ability to attain those innate needs, while simultaneously helping the whole. Mankind will be fulfilled and work itself to the common good with forward progress. Other men will follow who are similar and rise up. Give those with the greatest testosterone and the killer genes something to do to use those innate needs fulfillment; things like sports, business, war, etc. Eventually you can do away with war and have contests of skill and mental capacity. End eventually you can modify the human genome to not be set up in such a way that is adverse such negative behavior causes detriment of self and cause issues for the whole. We are living in the best society ever created with most of those innate needs satisfied. Surely it can be done better. But greed is not a bad thing, it has done well for the advancement of civilization. Politics are a new invention of about 200,000 years, which stem out of social interaction rather than pure strength to determine leadership. This may not have been the most perfect evolution of human kind, although it appears to be the one, which allowed us enough cooperation to get this far. The advancement of society has now moved faster than the changes of adaptation in our genetic code and the nurturing and socialization of current civilizations is at odds with the other. Having listened to the JW's and read 'Awana Magazine' conveniently littered at my house by a doorbell ditcher and having listened to the World leaders crying "Major Crisis" and "doom and gloom" all my life. I.E. The Nuclear Holocaust; Planet Alignment; Y2K; International Terrorists; Global Warming; Meteor Strikes; Biological Weapons of Mass Destruction; Armageddon (Yah Sure?). It is human nature to fear. And since this is so; leaders most often use fear to control. It must be much to their dismay however that many members of the species like myself enjoy the fear as it helps them in their motivation for action. It puts stress on them to do better since they work better under fear, which is most likely a genetic thing in that group of people. Fear sets up a defense mechanism and in many cases causes action. A skillful politician or leader uses this innate human characteristic to control and stay in power. Think about it. FEAR ! Maximizing Efficiency at Our Airports Our Airports have excess capacity, which is not being used due to the fact that many airliners sit during the nighttime and fly during the day. This is only one problem we have that can be solved through better optimization. You can go to any large airport in this country and see how few aircraft are taking off in the middle of the night. TSA Missteps at Our Airports The TSA seems to have completely missed the ball at our airports. This is not to say that the Federal Government is completely and utterly incompetent, for that is a whole other debate possibly spanning a thousand agencies? It is also not an immediate call for privatization, as we have already seen the abuses in private police forces and prisons. Local Police Forces have consistently violated our right to free travel under the auspice of homeland security. These conspiracy theorists go as far as to say that current or near future leadership will use the next large terrorist act to declare Marshall Law and remove the remainder of our rights after they themselves cause the act. Of course such scenarios are more science fiction fantasy than any actual current trend, which are above and beyond the stories of Orson Wells. Yet as we stroll thru our nations airports waiting to board our aircraft one could wonder by the treatment a world where such activities were the norm everywhere you went. Ohio Department of Transportation; Sector Economic Reality Ohio's transportation sector seems to be strong, even with Ohio's outrageous attack on the trucking industry. That one has to be politics. Eminent Domain Suggested as Cost Saving Measure in DC Washington DC council member David Catania actually suggested that the council should consider claiming eminent domain of certain widely prescribed pharmaceutical formulas in order to help reign in rising drug costs for the city. Catania suggests that the patents should be acquired by the government through the mayor's declaration of a public health emergency and then generic manufacturers would be contacted to produce the drugs for cheaper than they are commercially available. Elliot Spitzer for NY Governor I believe it would be good for the economy for Elliot Spitzer to be the governor of New York. It would be the best thing that ever happened to the economic well being of our nation. Not because he would make a great governor; in fact I believe he would suck. But since I do not live in New York I am not concerned. Cloaking Giant Airships is Possible, Why Stop There? We know we can cloak a giant airship from those looking up at it by simply using a video to tape what is above it and then display that on the bottom of the blimp. Those looking up at it will see not see a blimp but rather the sky above displayed like a giant flat movie screen which has been curved around the bottom of the blimp. Showing on the screen will not be Goodyear, Fuji, Budweiser or buy GM. It will be an exact picture image of the clouds, sky or stars directly above the airship. This technology exists now and has been tested, the technology is not so difficult or complicated, and it is relatively simple and easy to understand. Regarding this post: Dealing with Massive Prisoners of War In the last Gulf War we saw thousands of enemy soldiers giving up. Killing them is against Geneva Convention and they know it. So the soldiers simply laid down their weapons and said; "I give up, feed me!" Obviously we were snookered by this tactic, but it really came as no great surprise. Rather than taking these prisoners in and putting up the costs to feed them until after a war has ended, why not hibernate them instead. In other words take their bodies down by 90% and hibernate them like a bear. Is this really possible? Yes, with a little bit of funding it surely is possible, as a matter of fact a gentleman by the name of Mark Roth and his associates have successfully put mice into suspended animation using hydrogen sulfide gas in the proper ratios. Normally hydrogen sulfide gas can be a deadly toxic gas but in the right amounts it merely puts mammals to sleep. Perhaps we could simply fire rockets or cluster bomb smart munitions filled with this gas into the advancing enemy, pile up the bodies and put them into a cage and when they finally do wake up, feed them and then put them to sleep again.
